Time Spent 04:09
TIME SPENT Out where the warm winds blow And under a full Moon that glows I built up my life to what it is now. Some things have been left behind Except portraits of those I call mine When I was the one with her head in the clouds… Yeah Could I hold onto all that was? Would that be asking…asking too much? If you see me there and I’m crying it’s not ‘cause I’m blue, no It’s just from the love and the Time Spent Time Spent with you… Time with you. Letters from days gone by Phone calls that replay in my mind… Pictures of us caught just being ourselves. I freefall into what will be But I pray for the faces I really must see To fill empty frames that wait on my shelves. I ask you Could I hold onto all that was Would that be asking…asking too much? If you see me there and I’m crying it’s not ‘cause I’m blue, no It’s just from the love and the Time Spent Time Spent with you… Time with you. Yeah, yeah my memories work like magic keeping us close even though we’re far apart. Yeah, yeah Tears leaving me might seem tragic But it ain’t nothing compared to the way that I feel in my heart If you see me there and I’m crying it’s not ‘cause I’m blue, no It’s just from the love and the Time Spent Time Spent with you… Time with you.

Walk Away 04:11
WALK AWAY I won’t let you Walk Away and leave me – I won’t let you it’s not that easy. Walk Away but don’t you know I won’t let you go… I won’t let you Walk Away and leave me – I won’t let you it’s not that easy. Walk Away but don’t you know I won’t let you go… There’s something to be said for this… The distance and time in between you and me I wonder if it’s still right. When I look for you But you’re nowhere in sight It’s the coldest day, the darkest night. When I come to you but you don’t hold me tight Well I know the truth but I’m too tired to cry Did you say I won’t let you Walk Away and leave me – I won’t let you it’s not that easy. Walk Away but don’t you know I won’t let you go… If I could turn back time and Stop where it doesn’t hurt Would the past be better than the future we deserve? When I hope for you Well, it’s all I can do Because the trust is gone But the pain is true When I come to you with that fear in my eyes Will you turn away? Will we die with lies? I won’t let you Walk Away and leave me – I won’t let you it’s not that easy. Walk Away but don’t you know I won’t let you go…

Islands 04:52
ISLANDS If you build up the walls I will knock till they fall Because nothing else matters more. And if you stand on that mountain I will scream from the shore Because nothing else matters. The color fades from the mist as one more day begins. He lifts his head She washes her hands Time passes like a kiss Making eternity hard to resist and a mystery they try to understand Oh, but sometimes nothing makes sense. Sometimes there’s a big distance But just before the feelings change one or the other will stop and say hey If you build up the walls I will knock till they fall Because nothing else matters more. And if you stand on that mountain I will scream from the shore Because nothing else matters more. Beneath the setting sun and under thick wet palms They try to grow They try to have and to hold on. Looking for some redeeming grace Instead of some quick escape to the dark corners of their Islands. If you build up the walls I’ll knock till they fall Because nothing else matters more. And if you stand on that mountain I’ll scream from the shore Because nothing else matters more. Don’t ever shut me out. Don’t you know what we’re about – I won’t live without you! If you build up the walls I will knock till they fall Because nothing else matters more. And if you stand on that mountain I’ll scream from the shore Because nothing else matters more.

Smile 04:27
SMILE It can so hard sometimes… Emotions change along with our minds. Something precious, somewhat true But don’t you know sharing a life isn’t easy to do. I’ve seen those Skeletons behind every closet It don’t matter -I’d rather forget And try to find a new way to make you Smile With maybe just a wish or sweet desire Cause when I find a new way to make you Smile Then I know we’ll always share the fire. If I could only make you Smile. Tell me everything Tell me nothing. Take those chances but give me them, too. So much pain in so much attention Sometimes I think we hold our hearts for ransom. It takes a fool to love like a fool If that’s me loving you forever it’s true. And try to find a new way to make you Smile With maybe just a wish or sweet desire Cause when I find a new way to make you Smile Then I know we’ll always share the fire. If I could only make you Smile. I really hate to see you cry So I’m doing my best and stealing us time. Sharing love and conversations Growing through every situation. I know It takes a fool to love like a fool If that’s me loving you Forever it’s true And try to find a new way to make you Smile With maybe just a wish or sweet desire Cause when I find a new way to make you Smile Then I know we’ll always share the fire. If I could only make you Smile.

Small Life 04:45
SMALL LIFE At the low point of celebrity Something vengeful and ancient crawls up to me begging for a light. It seems everyone here comes searching for that With pockets full of wonder Wallets full of pain and this night It gets me thinkin’ What do they see on their side- On the opposite street in their Small Life Is it alright now? Maybe it’s some misty dream or big time On the opposite street in their Small Life Are they alright, now? Is it just right, now In their Small Life? Nothing to say and no say in things Sometimes he grumbles and sometimes he sings and walks east and west and east and west. Strangely romantic how he smiles and waves – Memories are hard to save but he still loves baby best. I ask him What does he see on his side- On the opposite street in his Small Life Is it alright now? Maybe it’s some misty dream or big time On the opposite street in his Small Life Is he alright, now? Is it just right, now In his Small Life…Small Life? And it’s the same damn scene when it comes to you- Except for the comfort of a middleclass fool Keeping you stuck when time is all that moves. What do you see on your side- On the opposite street in your Small Life Is it alright now? Maybe it’s some misty dream or big time On the opposite street in your Small Life Are you alright, now? Is it just right, now In your Small Life…Small Life…Small Life?

HEART OF THINGS She’s learned to read the faces – Maybe they tell her too much. So many say the same thing and hide what we’re not. Expecting the unexpected in everything we do – Living those slice-of-life stories but never as a fool Hey! She’s in the Heart of Things Deep in the Heart of Things She’s in the Heart of Things Don’t let her out. Sometimes I hear her shouting – She only needs to speak. She’d throw blankets on the fire if it’d save what she needs. She knows the right thing to do, even if it’s not what you say Chances are fine but few and she won’t give them away. She’s in the Heart of Things Deep in the Heart of Things She’s in the Heart of Things Don’t let her out. Well, I’m rolling down the windows just to get a better look, while 99% play dumb. Thanking my feelings for the roads I took, trying to get out of the slum. I know the right thing to do, even if it’s not what you say Chances are fine but few and I won’t give them away… hey She’s in the Heart of Things Deep in the Heart of Things She’s in the Heart of Things Don’t let her out.

about

In 1989, the band traveled down to Bradenton, Florida to spend two weeks recording with James Fairs. It was an amazing time where we did nothing but record, take beach breaks and hang out together. These songs were never formally released but we a happy to share them here.

Enjoy!
